STATE OF THE UNION: A CONSERVATIVE REBUTTAL

by Bill Whittle on January 30, 2011

This video is made possible exclusively through the support, generosity and patience of the Citizen Producers at Declaration Entertainment. If you would like to keep them coming, please consider becoming one of them.

Here is the transcript…

Hi everybody. Welcome to the Firewall; I’m Bill Whittle.

My fellow Americans, good evening. Our President has just delivered his State of the Union speech, and I would like to provide a conservative rebuttal, delivered without the unfair advantage of added graphics. We’ll call it a counter-thesis.

EJECT! EJECT! EJECT!

by Bill Whittle on January 29, 2011

Hi everyone — welcome to the new site.  I had hoped to roll it out the first week in January, but I spent most of the middle of the month on a major video project (to be released here within a week or so) and it just kept getting away from me. We’ve had almost 10,000 stealth hits in that time; many thanks to those who had the patience to wait quietly while we got the lighting, costume and make-up finalized.

You can access all of my Firewall videos, Red Eye Appearances, and select PJTV content by going to the VIDEO PAGE. The PHOTO PAGE contains several personal photos, and the STORE takes you to the e-commerce that keeps me in peanut butter .

FLASHBACK FRIDAY: INFLUENCES PAST AND PRESENT

by Bill Whittle on January 28, 2011

You may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
You may find yourself in another part of the world
You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
You may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
You may ask yourself: well… how did I get here?

– Talking Heads, ONCE IN A LIFEIME

How indeed? The Greeks had Homer; the Romans, Virgil and Cicero; the French had Voltaire, and the British had Shakespeare. We’ve got STAR TREK and MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE. No wonder we leave them in the dust.

– Bill Whittle, TO NO ONE IN PARTICULAR

Hi everybody; welcome to Flashback Friday.

Every culture has its own mythology. Ours is called Pop Culture. I have always been influenced by Pop Culture — that means TV shows — and here, in the Age of Everything, I thought I would share some of those influences… not only so you can see how I got to where I stand today, but also because you’ll probably connect to most of this yourself.

We’ll lead off with something not too terribly vital, just to prime the pump, so to speak. Behold yet another installment of the Future that is Behind Us:

Hi everybody; welcome to the Firewall; I’m Bill Whittle.

You know, many of my conservative friends and I are active in and big supporters of the Tea Party movement, and many of us seem to share a recurring, very similar experience. Conservatism, especially Tea party conservatism, has been so vilified by the mainstream media – journalists self-identify as “liberal” about ten times more often than they do “conservative” – that many times we’ll have our liberal friends, or sometimes total strangers, ask us to explain our horrible, knuckle-dragging, racist, extremist, whack-job views. And when we manage to do this calmly and clearly – which is difficult sometimes, I admit, given all the propaganda – well, more often than not (a lot more often than not) reasonable people will look at us with a kind of unique expression and say something like, “well, that doesn’t seem so crazy at all. I actually agree with a lot of that.”

So, let’s recap for our conservative friends, and introduce, to our liberal ones, some of the key point of what we conservatives – especially Tea Party Conservatives – would call our core beliefs. And we’ll start with the two biggest ones: small government, and free enterprise.
